Seniors and kids bloom together with a new kitchen garden project between Goodwin Farrer residents and Canberra Christian School, Mawson.

Goodwin Farrer residents visited the school to help plant out the schoolyard garden, which they’ll regularly revisit to tend and weed with the children – and enjoy tasting the results!

Bunnings Tuggeranong generously provided herbs, vegetables and passionfruit vines for the first planting day. (Thank you, Bunnings!)

“This is a fantastic program with a beautiful little school,” said Goodwin Chief Executive Officer, Sue Levy. The program will run indefinitely, and discussions are underway for other intergenerational activities such as reading, crafts or singing groups.

The Christian School children entertained Goodwin Farrer residents this morning, December 7, with Christmas carols.
