Food is an essential ingredient in making life at Goodwin amazing. We know our residents are eating delicious nutritious meals, and now we know how well our staff are eating thanks to Goodwin’s Healthy Recipe Competition!

Congratulations to our Procurement and Contracts Manager Michael Hardgrave and his Healthy Burrito Bowl for taking first place in Goodwin’s Healthy Recipe Competition!
The Healthy Burrito Bowl ticked all the boxes, with its nutritional balance of ½ vegetables, ¼ protein and ¼ healthy carbohydrate being a standout feature.
The healthy home cook, Michael, said his winning dish is a favourite in the Hardgrave household. ‘My daughters and their friends love it. When I cook, we often have a full table and there is never any food left. It’s one of our favourite Mexican dishes.’
Ranjana Shrestha, Concierge at RCC, came in 2nd with her Pan-Fried Chicken (Dry Fried) with Mixed Vegetables and Brown Rice and is proud with her podium. ‘I’m super happy and it’s good to focus on eating healthy in everyday life.’ Ranjana didn’t leave anything to chances and used a well-tested recipe – ‘I used my own recipe that my husband loves.’
Melissa Sims, Lifestyle Officer at Goodwin Village Monash, claimed third prize with her Taco Lettuce Wrap. ‘I make tacos all the time, but this is a healthier version. The competition is a good idea and it’s nice to see everybody’s recipes so we can try them at home. I would like to try Ranjana’s Pan Fried chicken, it looks good.’
