Celebration was in the air as Goodwin Farrer residents were joined by the neighbouring community residents and Goodwin staff and board members to mark the opening of phase one of the Farrer Village redevelopment project and the new clubhouse. The clubhouse will serve as a social hub for residents to meet friends and family and enjoy the warmth of the community that surrounds them.
It was an evening to remember as guests mixed and mingled over drinks, nibbles, enjoyed live music and explored the new facilities.
Guests were welcomed by the Chair of the Goodwin board Liesel Wett and Goodwin’s CEO Sue Levy. ‘It is because of you that we are able to join together today and celebrate the success of the completion of Farrer Stage 1’, said Liesel Wett, as she declared the village open.
‘Rebuilding the village has been a monumental challenge and it’s taken years of planning, determination, and hard work to reach this point.’
They also acknowledged the patience of the Farrer Village residents and the neighbourhood during development.
Built on Goodwin’s 65 plus years of experience, the new Farrer village offers a hub of modern conveniences and stunning apartments nestled among the charms of well-established Woden valley suburb. The village will also feature an on-site residential aged care facility, providing residents future-proofed living should their needs change.
Construction work on the next phases continues and the entire village is expected to be ready by 2023.
