Big crowds and an excited buzz at The Mawson Club on Tuesday 12 December for the VIP launch for members of the register of interest for our upcoming Farrer Village by Goodwin.
Around 65 people attended the morning session and about 85 for the afternoon session.
Goodwin village Farrer will have five new buildings with 150 independent living units and a new live-in care facility. The first two apartment buildings will be completed by the end of 2018 and the third building and clubhouse by mid-2019. The whole redevelopment is expected be completed by the end of 2021.
Highlights from the event were the unveiling of the floorplans for each apartment. “The floor plans are very generous and the three-bedroom apartments (116m2 – 169m2) are larger than some townhouses in Canberra,” said Erik Boddeus, Goodwin’s Executive Manager Retirement Living. “Even the one and two-bedroom apartments are spacious with the floor plans – up to 87m2, and 118m2 respectively.”
Understandably with the cost of heating and cooling the audience were particularly interested in the EER ratings of the apartments. These ratings are very high from 7 to 9 EER. Other areas of interest to the audience was the clubhouse and its features, which will include a library, business centre, gym, café, and TV lounge area. The audience was relieved to discover all the units will be built to adaptable housing code and come with a 24/7 emergency call system.
