Residents of Goodwin residential care communities in Monash and Ainslie are helping design their new Autumn/Winter menu, taking part in a series of ‘Food Focus Groups’ next week to taste-test and review the menu plan.
Goodwin runs four rotating weekly menus within each seasonal menu in our live-in care (or ‘residential care’). The resident focus groups will undertake tastings of a selection of soups, mains and desserts before making decisions around the final draft of the menu.
‘We are doing lots of work at present on food with our new Autumn/Winter menu to be introduced in March. Our dietitian is also currently reviewing the menu for endorsement,’ said Robyn Boyd, Executive Manager Residential Care for Goodwin.
Goodwin’s chef Sandeep Vaid co-designs the menus. Sandeep’s background is in luxury hotels including the Hilton and Intercontinental groups and the Michelin-starred Claridges restaurant of London.
‘We want our meals to be an enjoyable experience, as well as nutritional,’ says Robyn.
‘Goodwin catering is freshly prepared using as much seasonal produce as is possible, providing a balanced nutritious diet for our residents, ensuring we are providing appropriate menu options to meet their particular dietary needs.’
‘I am very passionate about our catering services’, says Robyn.
Goodwin provides a variety of choice options to our residents at each meal time, in both mains and desserts. We bake morning tea, afternoon tea and dessert options on site daily. Copies of weekly menus are provided to all residents and are available on site for any visitors.
