Goodwin wins Technology Health and Wellbeing category of Future of Ageing Awards

We are delighted to announce Goodwin has WON the Technology Health and Wellbeing category of the
2021 Future of Ageing Awards for our use of Smart Badge technology.

In 2020, Goodwin partnered with Aspen Medical Australia to run a contact tracing technology trial called Smart Badge. The trial took place between December 2020 and February 2021 at Goodwin House in Ainslie. The technology assists with contact tracing, social distancing, and capacity management, and has proved to be an important tool in infection prevention and outbreak management for residential aged care during the COVID-19 pandemic, and we expect it to continue to be a valuable tool in the future.

Executive Manager of Clinical and Health Services at Goodwin, Tamra McLeod said, “Goodwin was really proud to be part of the trial – the trial is about the now but it’s also about the future. Goodwin has been involved in lots of research projects in the past and currently, and it was a pleasure to work collaboratively with Aspen Medical and Smart Badge.”

Today we’re proud that the Smart Badge system is fully operational at our Ainslie facility.

We are honoured to have won and be recognised by the Future of Ageing Awards for this new technology that is now so important for the health and wellbeing of our residents, staff and their families.
