Goodwin is pleased to announce the acquisition of residential care facility, The Glen, located in Catalina, Batemans Bay, NSW.
Owned and operated since 2012 by not-for-profit aged care provider Fresh Hope Communities, The Glen is a modern, state-of-the-art facility comprising ninety-two fully-equipped residences with ensuites, suited to all levels of care.
Goodwin will begin operating The Glen from 31 January 2023, with Fresh Hope Communities and Goodwin teams working closely together in the lead up to the transition.
Goodwin CEO Stephen Holmes said Goodwin is pleased to welcome The Glen into the Goodwin community.
“We look forward to working with the staff and residents of The Glen and are excited to continue and build upon the strong quality of care that Fresh Hope Communities has established.
“The Glen will allow Goodwin to provide a continuum of care for seniors in the Batemans Bay area. Goodwin’s suite of services in the region includes retirement living, assisted living, home care, and now with the addition of The Glen, residential care, which means that Goodwin can meet the needs of seniors throughout their ageing journey, from independent living right through to end-of-life care.
“Goodwin is dedicated to providing leading care and services for all of its residents and clients, and will be working closely with the Batemans Bay and South Coast communities to ensure high-quality aged care is accessible to all.” Said Mr Holmes.
All current employees of The Glen will be offered roles with Goodwin and there will be no reduction to services or amenities provided to residents.
Goodwin will bring its full range of clinical services, including its in-house pharmacist. Goodwin was the first aged care provider in Australia to employ a fulltime in-house pharmacist, and its positive results in improved care has seen the Australian Government fund the initiative to be implemented to aged care providers nationally.
Fresh Hope Communities CEO Daniel Dwyer said: “We are very proud of what we have achieved with the support of our dedicated staff since purchasing The Glen a decade ago”.
“The sale is a great outcome for residents, families, staff and the broader community, with another high quality non-profit organisation continuing to operate the service, providing continuity for residents and employees.” Said Mr Dwyer.
