Congratulations to our wonderfully caring Community Carer, Ramin Ratchiri, for receiving Goodwin’s Award for Excellence.
Ramin was nominated by her colleagues for her exceptional dedication, bright positivity, and genuine care that she provides to her clients.
One of community’s most dependable team membrs, Ramin is ready to offer assistance at any time, and has the skills and personality that allows for her to be rostered to clients of all backgrounds and with differing levels of care needs.
Being able to quickly build report with clients is an important yet sometimes challenging part of being a carer, but Ramin’s kind, respectful, and approachable nature sees her building wonderful, trusting relationships everywhere she goes.
Ramin regularly receives positive feedback from happy and grateful clients. “Ramin is very thoughtful, very efficient and friendly, I am so happy to have found her”, said one of her clients. “Ramin is a great help. She’s kind and nice to have around” said another.
Not only has Ramin demonstrated exceptional dedication to her clients but also to the home care administration team. “What can we say other than she is fantastic. She helps out whenever she can and is always friendly and respectful to all”.
When asked about her feelings of receiving the award, Ramin said that Julie from the home care team had called to inform her about her achievement. She was incredibly surprised! “I could not believe it! I’m really happy about it and very grateful to work with so wonderful people”.
Goodwin’s vision that every person should have quality of life and the opportunity to stay productive in their community is made possible by the fabulous care provided by people like Ramin.

Congratulations to David Harper House’ Activities Officer extraordinaire, Ana Muriel, for being awarded the 2020 Bursary Award!
The Bursary Award provides financial assistance for staff who are pursuing qualifications to further their careers.
Ana is using the award to help fund her participation in a Diversional Therapy course, furthering her education and skills to provide resident-centred leisure and recreational experiences to support, challenge and enhance the psychological and physical wellbeing of residents.
Ana has been nominated numerous times over the past five years for her enormous passion, enthusiasm, inspiring nature, and for her outstanding demonstration of the Goodwin values.
Joining the Goodwin family five years ago, Ana has facilitated engaging activities for residents in both Goodwin House and David Harper House, bringing her wonderful charm, joy, and endless smiles to everything she does.
Ana’s abundance of energy radiates throughout the building and brightens everyone’s day. She puts great thought into preparing new and creative ideas for residents, and is passionate about seeing the positive impact the events have on both residents and staff.
David Harper House Director of Nursing, Sue Smith, says that Ana’s passion in the role sees her take the time to know the residents and establish a respectful and personal relationships. “She is not only a friendly and approachable person but also demonstrates exceptional theoretical knowledge.”
“I have known and had the privilege to work with Ana at Ainslie and here at Monash, and she is an absolute joy to work with. She epitomises Goodwin’s values in everything she does.” Said Sue. “She’s a real credit to Goodwin.”
When asked about her reaction in receiving the award, Ana expressed her appreciation and surprise. ‘I’m really honoured and touched – and surprised!’.
Ana’s passion, enthusiasm and skills are a real credit to Goodwin, and we congratulate her on receiving the award.
