Nostalgia and emotions ran high at Goodwin House Ainslie as we celebrated Swiss National Day on the wish of our proud Swiss Aussie resident, Tony Capeder.
There was a special performance by the Canberra Swiss Choir that Tony was once associated with. Both he and his wife, Eva, couldn’t hold back their tears as the choir sang “A Beetle in the Farm”, which Tony had taught them when he was part of the choir. To cap off the event, Tony rang a cowbell in typical Swiss fashion, and was presented with a bouquet by our team, before joining residents for an afternoon tea.
‘I will never forget this day. Thank you everyone – the activities team, all the carers, nurses, push and cleaning staff, and of course my fellow Goodwin residents who made it possible’, said Tony.
