Dear staff, volunteers, residents and clients,
This Christmas Goodwin has a lot to be grateful for, and I wish to express my gratitude for every one of you for being part of the Goodwin community, and for the contributions you have made through the year.
This year we helped close to 2000 seniors to have better quality of life, including around 1000 Goodwin residents. We provided approximately 95,000 hours of care through our home care team alone. We employed more than 530 people.
Major achievements to celebrate include completion of stage 1 of the Farrer redevelopment, opening Crace Health and Wellness Centre, and placement of Australia’s first in-house aged care pharmacist, who has already overseen very promising improvements in medication management. We won the 2019 Innovageing Award, ACT Development of the Year and HIA Specialised Housing Development of the Year (both for Crace).
Goodwin continues to be strong as an organisation, and a grateful, steadfast member of the community.
To our employees, our leadership team is proud of your commitment to continual improvement in care and service for our residents and clients, and the dedication you demonstrate to individuals every day. You are more than a worker at Goodwin, you are Goodwin, and I thank you for sharing in our values so deeply.
The same applies to our volunteers, whom I thank also for your generosity of time and spirit. You are greatly valued and it is our pleasure to have you amongst us.
To our residents and clients, again I extend heartfelt thanks to you and your families for placing your trust in Goodwin, and we welcome all those who have joined us through the course of the year. Your comfort and wellbeing are our first priority. Please keep up the feedback, and have a wonderful holiday season however you might celebrate.
Special thanks for the extra efforts of Goodwin members, resident committee members, and social committee members. Thanks also to all those who have organised or contributed to the Christmas charity work within our villages and Day Clubs, and community giving throughout the year.
