Goodwin Aged Care Services can confirm no additional cases of COVID-19 have been identified in any Goodwin facility or village at this time.
The two confirmed cases of COVID-19 at retirement living village, Goodwin Village Ainslie, continue to recover at home together and are being supported by ACT Health and the Goodwin team.
Our thoughts continue to be with these residents, and on behalf of the Goodwin community we wish them a quick recovery.
As always, the safety and wellbeing of our residents is our utmost priority, and we thank our residents and the community for their continued support as we work with ACT Health to minimise the spread of infection.
As you may be aware, two fully vaccinated residents have tested positive for Coronavirus (COVID-19) at Goodwin Village Ainslie, a retirement living community in the ACT where retirees live independently. They are spouses who have been quarantining together in their apartment. They are currently recovering at home and are being supported by ACT Health and the Goodwin team.
Protecting the safety and wellbeing of our residents is our utmost priority. Our thoughts are with this resident, and we wish them a quick recovery.
We thank our residents and the community for their support as we work to minimise the spread of infection. Our staff have thoroughly prepared for a COVID-19 event. They are trained in strict infection prevention and control protocols and are focusing all their attention on the needs and safety of our residents.
There are no cases in any other Goodwin facility or village at this time.
We are excited to share that Goodwin has been shortlisted for the 2021 Future of Ageing Awards in the Technology – Health and Wellbeing category.
In 2020, Goodwin partnered with Aspen Medical Australia to run a contact tracing technology trial called Smart Badge. The trial took place between December 2020 and February this year at Goodwin House Ainslie. The technology assists with contact tracing, social distancing, and capacity management, and has proved to be an important tool in infection prevention and outbreak management for residential aged care during the COVID-19 pandemic, should the unfortunate event occur.
Executive Manager of Clinical and Health Services at Goodwin, Tamra McLeod said, “Goodwin was really proud to be part of the trial – the trial is about the now but it’s also about the future. Goodwin has been involved in lots of research projects in the past and currently, and it was a pleasure to work collaboratively with Aspen Medical and Smart Badge.”
Today we’re proud that the Smart Badge system is fully operational at our Ainslie facility.
We are delighted to be recognised in partnership with Aspen Medical, and to be shortlisted for this special award. ... See MoreSee Less
